The Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade has given Nigeria’s award-winning singer, Iyanya an appointment as the Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment.
This comes in line with many State Governors giving award-winning citizens of their states various government positions.
Iyanya’s disclosed his new appointment in a post on his instagram page on Wednesday where he thanked the Governor for finding him worthy of such a position.
According to Iyanya, “Is forward ever and backwards never. I have been appointed the Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment to the Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade.
“I thank God who made this possible and also my Governor for finding me worthy to handle this position.”
Other Entertainers who recently got similar honours include:

- Tarimotimi Sinclair also known as Trikytee was also also given an unspecified appointment by Governor Diri
- Mercy Johnson Okojie, Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Entertainment
- Ozo is ECOWAS Youth Ambassador
- Olamilekan “Laycon” Agbeleshe, has been appointed as the Ogun State Youth Ambassador by the governor, Dapo Abiodun
