Nigeria’s popular crossdresser, Bobrisky has revealed why he did not do the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) after obtaining a degree from the prestigious University of Lagos.

Bobrisky graduated in 2016 but ditched the mandatory National Youth Service, a pre-requirement to gain employment in any government or accredited private business establishment in Nigeria.

He gave snippets of his reasons and stories of his life in a rare interview with popular journalist and media mogul, Chude Jideonwo.

He told Jideonwo that he boycotted the NYSC because he needed to make money and become his own boss.

The controversial man/lady said that he wanted to be a crossdresser in the University but the atmosphere, and in particular, one of his lecturers would not let him be himself.

Bobrisky added that as soon as he graduated he grabbed the opportunity to actually express himself.

He revealed that he only wanted to pull the stunt and make money for a short while before reverting to himself. However, the moment he found that it was fetching him loads of money, he no longer saw any reason to back down.

Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju AKA Bobrisky

According to him, “I finished from UNILAG in 2016, I was supposed to go for my NYSC but I didn’t cos I wanted to make money… UNILAG prevented me from being Bobrisky cos my course advisor was tough…after I left school, I became free to live as I wanted…

“In 2018, I bought a house in Chevron. In 2019, I thought about doing surgery but I was scared and same with 2020, and in 2021, I went for lipo and tummy surgery.

Bobrisky revealed that, “My initial plan was to do it for a small time to make money as a crossdresser but now, I’m not ready to stop cos it is paying me millions weekly. I started crossdressing there years ago and I have built my brand in 4 years.

“If you say money is not everything, you are lying to yourself, money is everything. If you want to get a good name, is it not with money ?

He added that it is easier and more worthwhile being a woman than a man and regretted that many ladies do not know the assets their gender portends.

Born Okuneye Idris Olarenwaju in 1992, Bobrisky completed her secondary school education at King’s College, Lagos
