Buhari Departs New York for Nigeria (photos)

President Muhammadu Buhari has departed New York, for Nigeria. He left on Saturday for Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Buhari travelled to New York on Sunday, 19th of September ahead of the 76th United Nations General Assembly.

The meetings held at the world body’s headquarters where he also met with other world leader, delegations and heads of development organisations with whom he held bilateral talks on Nigeria’s development and global issues in general.

Nigeria’s President is expected back in Nigeria on Monday.

It was also an occasion to meet Nigerians holding international leadership positions across the globe among whom are the Director-General if the World Trade Organisation, Dr Ngozi Okonjo_Iweala and Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Buhari addressed the Assembly during the morning session on Friday.

Various Nigerian groups, including the Yoruba Nation, Indigenous People of Biafra and other activists interests staged peaceful protests to demand a better Nigeria.

Expectedly, there were also counter protests with groups urging the President to carry on with his governance style.
