The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has revealed that it has no hand in the killing of Dr Chike Akunyili, husband of former NAFDAC DG and 2-time federal minister, late Prof Dora Akunyili.
Speaking on Wednesday through its spokesman, Emma Powerful, the group stated that it has nothing against the murdered medical doctor.
Powerful added that the gunmen who assassinated Dr Akunyili are working closely with those who poisoned and killed Dora Akunyili herself as they are out to eliminated the entire family.
He also stated that politicians are the ones behind all the killings in Anambra State.
Hetty’s Media woke up to the news of the murder of Dora’s husband who was assassinated by unknown gunmen at Umuoji in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State on Tuesday.

The death was followed by speculations in some quarters that the secessionist group, IPOB, led by embattled Nnamdi Kanu was responsible for the killing.
Emma Powerful, speaking on behalf of the group told Nigerian Tribune that those peddling the news are only out to tarnish their image.

“IPOB are not unknown gunmen and regrets why people with evil agendas for the people of Biafra still link IPOB to the murderous group.

“Those who poisoned his wife are still after the family because they have a mission to finish the family.
“It is unfortunate that those who planned and poison late Dora Akunyili would link IPOB on this man’s death. It is important to note that IPOB are not unknown gunmen.
“We have disassociated ourselves from this group unknown gunmen but people with evil agenda to the people of Biafra are still linking IPOB to this murderous group. IPOB doesn’t know anything about Dora Akunyili’s husband because we are not unknown gunmen.
“ESN was set up to protect and secure our mothers and sisters to go to the farms. Those doing this are trying to do it so our people will support IPOB. But Biafrans are wiser and know what traitors are doing. We want to make it clear to them that IPOB is not behind the killing going on in Anambra State. It is politicians killing people in the state.
“IPOB has no intention of fomenting trouble in our land. Please, we beg those linking us into this madness to desist because they will regret their actions soon. “
