A video has emerged of an Army Commander ordering his troops to shoot anybody in sight in Izombe, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.
The video was shared across social media platforms by Voiceoftheeast and has attracted outrage as people question reason innocent unarmed citizens should be mowed down.
Others wonder what the Governor of the state is doing as the military clamp down of civilians.
According to voiceoftheeast,
“Anybody you see, kill” Says a Nigerian Army commander to his troops.
“A Massacre is currently going on in Izombe, Oguta LGA, Imo State.
And nobody is saying anything about it “
There is already tension and agitation among members of the public in the south east region as unknown gunmen have unleashed terror and arson burning down police stations, breaking into prisons and setting inmates on the loose.
Notable citizens of the region have been killed while valuable private properties have also been attacked.
There has clamp a down on peaceful protesters as may be seen in the case of veteran actor, Chiwetalu Agu who was arrested for embarking on a seeming lone protested while dressed in the Biafran flag.
Viral reports estimate that over 20 police stations and correctional centres have been targeted by unknown gunmen leaving in their trail, dead officers, burnt down police stations and empty armouries.
Most of the incidents occurred between January and September 2021.
