The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministries in Enugu, Reverend Fr Ejike Mbaka has declared that he never endorsed the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Andy Uba in the just concluded governorship election of Anambra State.

This follows reports that the Catholic cleric had endorsed Andy Uba as successor to the incumbent Governor, Willie Obiano.

The election however, ended with the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo emerging as winner.

61-year old Soludo, a former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor and current member of Buhari’s Economic Council polled 112,229 vote to beat PDP’s Valentine Ozigbo with 53,807 votes and Andy Uba with 43,285 votes,

While address his congregation during last Sunday service, Fr Mbaka insisted that photos of him endorsing Andy Uba on social are fake.

He maintained that all those peddling the rumour are mischief-makers and described all the candidates as his friends.

The cleric added that Soludo was his spiritual son who usually visits him at home.

According to Mbaka, “Last time I show in the social media a picture of me, Andy Uba and some other people and they wrote on it that Father Mbaka has endorsed Andy Uba. How? Where? When?

“When I have already said I have not endorsed anybody in Anambra. They are all my friends. Soludo is my friends, he comes to my house.

“He (Soludo) is my son, spiritually. So whoever put that picture is a mischief maker. That Andy Uba saga is satanic. And they can’t use me to cause trouble in Anambra.”
