The presidential campaign posters of the former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu have flooded in major streets and cities of the South East.

The posters of the Senate Chief Whip were seen in strategic places in Umuahia, Enugu, Awka, Owerri, Abakaliki and other key cities in the south eastern part of Nigeria.

Most of the posters saw Kalu adorned in the Hausa regalia and are said to have been pasted by the Arewa Community in the region.

Speaking to newsmen on Monday in Umuahia, the President of the Association of Arewa Community in the South East, Alhaji Mohammed Umaru said that the group was behind the printing and the pasting of the posters.

He disclosed their readiness to see that Orji Kalu emerges as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 presidential election.

Umaru added that the North, West and South-South have all ruled the nation as executive president insisting that it is time to support an Igbo President.

He stated that the time is now to support an Igbo presidency in order to address the session agitation in the South East.

The Arewa chieftain said that the group is a non-political organisation made up of members from all northern states living or doing business in the South East.

Kalu served as the Governor of Abia StateNigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007.
