The Health Secretary, Sajid Javid explained on Saturday that with the latest development, all international arrivals into the UK will be required to take the Covid-19 tests.

UK citizens and residents will be able to enter the country from Nigeria but will be required to pay to say in a quarantine for 10 days.

According to Javid, “Nigeria is second only to South Africa for cases linked to Omicron.”

He added that the country has already recorded “27 cases and that’s growing.”

The Health Secretary said that measures are “hugely unfortunate”for people who already have travel plans but that the measure would be temporary.

“We want to remove them as soon as we possibly can. “Vaccines remain our first line of defence.”
