Drama as Security Operatives Exchange Blows During Buhari’s State Visit to Kaduna

Security operatives today, caused commotion when they engaged each other in an exchange of blows while President Muhammadu Buhari was commissioning the Kawo bridge in Kaduna State.

The President is on a 2-day state visit to the State to commission some projects executed by Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

During his visit, President Buhari is scheduled to commission projects in Kafanchan, Kaduna and Zaria.

However, while the commissioning was ongoing, security details attached to the President had an altercation with those of the Kaduna State which resulted in the exchange of blows.

Daily Trust reports that the drama started when some operatives of the Department of State Services blocked the road to Kawo bridge soon after Buhari mounted the bridge.

The State Governor who had earlier alighted from his vehicle rode in the president in his convoy to the bridge.

Security operative blocked the road after the president and governor climbed the bridge. This prevented journalists and dignitaries from accessing the area.

According to Daily Trust, El-Rufai’s ADC who was not pleased with the development insisted that the Governor’s official vehicle be allowed access.

The president’s security aides stood their ground and this resulted in not just an altercation but an exchange of blows, eventually the governor’s vehicle was given access.
