A mother of 2 identified as Mercy Henry who was reported missing on the 16th of December has been found dead in the Ijegun surbub of Lagos.
Mercy is reported to have been killed by her native doctor who confessed to the crime.
Promise, the younger sister of the deceased confirmed the incident saying that the trado-medical doctor, Mayowa admitted to committing the crime after 3 other suspects linked to Mercy’s disappearance confessed.
Promise said that that Mayowa took the police to his backyard where the mutilated body of her sister was packed in sacks and buried.
The family of the deceased mother of 2 children began making calls to her friends to report her disappearance when she went missing.
They requested everyone to come forward with information that would help with her whereabouts.
One of Mercy’s friends identified as Ayo who resides in Port Harcourt informed her family that on the day she went missing, Mercy called and asked for a loan due to ill-health.
Ayo sent the money by 1:59pm but when she tried Mercy’s number at about 2:02, the number was switched off.
During investigation, the police added the information of the bank details provided by Ayo to other information provided by First Bank to track down the suspect.
During interrogation, Mayowa initially denied seeing Mercy for over 4 years but a look through his phone call log and chats showed he had actually been in touch with her recently.
The suspected culprit is currently being held at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).
