Four Chibok girls have been released from the captivity of the Islamic State’s West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters.

The girls were among those kidnapped when the terrorists stormed Kautikari village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State on Friday, the 14th of January, 2022.

Reports say the four girls were taken to Dille village which shares a border with Sambisa forest before they were released on Sunday.

A resident of the town confirmed that the girls regained their freedom on Sunday.

Vanguard reports him as saying that they are currently with the District head of Kautikari village who resides in Chibok town.

He said, “I can exclusively confirm to you that four young girls who were in the captivity of insurgents have regained freedom today, (Sunday).

“I was informed that they were taken to Dille axis of Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State which shares a border with Sambisa forest.

“Presenty, all the girls are cooling off with the District Head of Kautikari who resides in Chibok town.”

Chibok is a Local Government Area of Borno State, Nigeria, located in the south of the state. Its headquarters are in the town of Chibok.
