General Overseer in Court for Murdering Church Member

49-year-old general Overseer of the All Saints Development Church of Christ, Igbara-Oke in Ifedore, Ondo State, Prophetess Serah Abuloye has been arraigned in court for murdering a member of her church.

The suspect is facing a 2-count charge of conspiracy and murder.

The clergy woman allegedly murdered and dumped the victim, 37- year-old Adefunke Aselogbon in a bush behind her church on January 6, 2022.

The prophetess reportedly committed the crime around 4.00 am along Isarun Road, Igbara-oke.

Obalasa Ajiboye, the police prosecutor stated that the offences are contrary to and punishable under Section 324 and 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

He subsequently demanded that the accused be remanded in a correctional centre pending the outcome of advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Counsel to the defendant, Mrs Ola Adedire did not oppose the application

The presiding magistrate, Damilola Sekoni subsequently remanded the suspect in police custody and adjourned the case to February 18, 2022 for ruling on remand application.
