BRT Operator Issues Statement on Murdered Passenger

The management of Primero Transport Company, the operator of the BRT bus that conveyed 22-year-old Oluwabamise Ayanwola who went missing in the Chevron Area of Lagos, has issued a statement.

The operator said that the route from where the young lady was picked is not operated by its BRT buses.

He noted that several operators offer BRT services and also insisted that the bus mentioned in social media updates is not operated by them.

Excerpts of the statement:

We take the safety and security of all commuters on Primero buses as a priority, and as such, this report is a concern to us.

“However, the alleged routes plied by the bus (Chevron/Lekki), is not operated by Primero Transport Services Limited.

“The alleged bus, identified in the video distributed on social media, is not owned or operated by Primero Transport Services Limited.”

Primero further said that several other companies operate the BRT services in Lagos and are assigned routes by the Lagos State Government through Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).

“Primero is assigned the Ikorodu to TBS and Oshodi to Abule Egba corridors. Our buses do not operate at Chevron/Lekki/Ajah.

“We are as concerned as the family and friends of Bamise Ayanwole, and we are hoping for positive news from authorities on her welfare.”
