Travellers Attacked, Kidnapped on Kaduna-Abuja Highway

Barely 24 hours after an Abuja-Kaduna train was attacked by terrorists, bandits have again, attacked Kaduna-Abuja travellers and kidnapped a yet to be confirmed number of people.

Reports say that commuters were on Tuesday morning, blocked by the bandits and taken to an unknown destination.

A resident of the area said the bandits who were wielding dangerous weapons asked the travellers to come out of their vehicles.

He said that, “We saw them when they are taking dozens of travellers inside the forest. But we were helpless as we were not armed. We don’t even have the power to confront them.”

A statement is yet to be released by the Police or State Government as at the time of this report.

Hetty’s Media reported that a train was attacked by terrorists after explosives were planted on an Abuja-Kaduna train loaded with 970 passengers.

After the explosion, the bandits stormed the coaches, kidnapped an unspecified number of passengers and killed many who resisted the abduction.

Many prominent Nigerians were among the travellers during the attack.
