Controversial Nollywood actor and politician, Yul Edochie has doubled down on his marriage to a second wife insisting he does not need his first wife’s permission to take another woman.
He also described his new marriage as the best decision he has ever made in his lifetime.
Edochie has been a point of discussion since Wednesday following his announcement of his new wife and child.
His latest comment on his choice was made this during an interview with comedian Kasboi on Friday.
The actor’s wedding to his second wife, a Nollywood actress, Judy Austin Muoghalu set the internet on fire, attracted unreserved backlash and the ire of his father and entire family.
The development saw the first wife, May unfollow him on Instagram after she expressed her disappointment.
Edochie while speaking on Friday further stated that he had always known that a day like this would come.
He added that he didn’t need to seek his first wife’s permission to marry a new wife.
According to the Nollywood actor, the woman who doesn’t respect you will not respect you, adding that the one who loves you and respects you will be with you forever.
Edochie while reacting to the statements of Nigerians following his decision to marry another wife said, “A whole lot of people don’t know you but judge you from what they see.”
