Chrisland Schools Speaks on Plans to Exhume Late Student's Body

Broadcaster Arraigned Regarding Chrisland School Girl’s S*x Video

A 40-year-old broadcaster identified as Uche Igwe was on Monday, arraigned in Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly sharing the viral s3x video of 10-year-old student of Chrisland School, Lekki, Lagos.

The accused was arraigned on a two-count charge of cyberstalking and breach of peace.

Prosecution counsel of the State Criminal Investigation Department Panti, Augustine Nwabuisi, said that on April 18, the accused intentionally posted on his Twitter handle @uchedark, a video of the 10-year-old female student engaging in s*xual intercourse with another student in Dubai.

He stated that the offence is in breach of Section 24 (1) (a) (b) (i) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act of 2015, and Section 168 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. Section 24 (1) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition and Prevention) Act of 2015 provides for 10 years’ imprisonment for cyberstalking while the Breach of peace is punishable with three months’ jail term under Section 168 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, Uche Igwe however pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Adeola Adedayo granted the defendant a bail of N10 million with three sureties in like sum.

She added that the sureties must submit their National Identification Numbers and their Lagos State Residents Registration Agency cards.

Mrs Adedayo also directed that one of the sureties must be a land owner, adding that all the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.

The Magistrate ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and have evidence of three years’ tax payment to Lagos State Government and subsequently adjourned the case to June 13 for mention.
