Bamidele Salam, a lawmaker representing the Ede-North/Ede-South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency in Osun State in the House of Representatives, has staged a lone protest walk in Abuja against insecurity in Nigeria and the abduction of Abuja-Kaduna train passengers.

Salam walked barefooted from the Unity Fountain in the Maitama neighborhood to the National Assembly Complex, clothed in black on Wednesday, June 1.

On the 28th of March, 2022, terrorists attacked an Abuja-Kaduna bound train, 20 minutes to it’s destination.

Disturbed by the rising insecurity in the country, the lawmaker criticized the failed attempt to implement a number of resolutions that have been passed to the executive arm of the Federal Government, led by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He lamented that despite threats from their kidnappers, the government had failed to rescue the kidnapped passengers on the Abuja-Kaduna train that have been held captive by terrorists for 3 months.

Salam wrote on his placard: “President Muhammadu Buhari, please do more to guarantee the freedom of the Kaduna train abductees and other Nigerians held captive,”
