‘Things I Prophesied About Nigeria Have Come to Pass’ – Sanusi Lamido

"Gist"

The dethroned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido has noted that he has been vindicated as most of the things he prophesied about Nigeria have come to pass.

The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria said this in Abuja on Saturday at a stage play titled “Emir Sanusi: Truth in Time.”

He said he would continue to express his views on issues of national interest as they relate to the growth and development of the country.

He also stated that he would be an ingrate if he expressed regret over his removal as emir of Kano in spite of the positions he occupied in life.

He said: “I don’t think that God has taken anything away from me. So, I’ve no regrets.

“I turned 61years last year and in those years, I had the honour of having been the Chief Risk Officer at United Bank for Africa and the Chief Risk Officer at First Bank.

I was Governor of the Central Bank, Emir of Kano and now Khalifah, Tijaniyat Movement of Nigeria.

“If I have sadness, then I am ungrateful. How many people have had the opportunity to be just one of those things?

“History is always the best judge. The things that I said would happen that caused me so much trouble have happened.

“For me, I have absolutely no regret and I’ll continue to speak and voice my views. I’ll continue to defend this country.”
