Prior to the update by the Owolabi family, there were reports that the alleged sibling, Femi Owolabi, made confessional statements to the police admitting to the crime and blaming it on the devil.

Ogbomosoinsightonline.com quotes the older brother of the deceased Mr Ayo Owolabi on Sunday evening as saying that they had no sibling bearing Femi Owolabi.

Ayo noted that no family member was arrested in connection with the kidnap and murder of his brother, Gbenga.

While expressing hope that truth will prevail, Ayo said, “You can tell that to the marines.”

Gbenga Owolabi, who just returned from the United States of America, was kidnapped in his hotel – Tana Suites, at Abaa, Ilorin road on the 28th of July.

Abducted along with him was a staff member identified as Rachael Opadele, a final year student at LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.

A few days after a ransom of N5m was paid by the Owolabi family, the kidnappers allegedly killed the victims and the motorcyclist that conveyed the ransom bearer to the kidnappers.

The ransom bearer is said to have escaped death by the whiskers.

Ogbomosoinsightonline reports that investigations are ongoing with a view to bringing the perpetrators to book.
