The Founder and General Overseer of Household of God Church in Lagos, Reverend Chris Okotie has opened up on his marriage plans

The cleric politician stated that he is not getting married for the third time.

The 64-year-old was first married to Tina. The marriage ended in 2001. Then Okotie got married to Stephanie Henshaw in 2008. The union ended in 2012.

Okotie told BBC Pidgin that God called him to be celibate like the biblical Apostle Paul but he did not understand until he grew older.

“I’m not getting married again,”
he answered when asked if there was any chance he would have another wife.

“I’m not getting married again because Jesus has already told me that one has ended. When I was saved, when I became born again, I was in the university at the time I did not understand the will of God for my life. I always said I wanted my own family and all that and I went and did what I wanted,” he said.

Reverend Chris Okorie stated that Nigerians do not vote for individuals but for political parties.

He reiterated the fact the Labour Party is only on the social media, does not have the the kind of structure held by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He said that it is likely that Labour Party will have the kind of structure the big 2 have and become force to reckon with in the future.

Okotie has proposed the idea of an interim government in Nigeria which he would head. According to him, Nigeria might not survive another general election.

Reactions:

Joshua Adebola: :If I may ask sir who be the party? Can party win election without people? If people decided to change their mind, thought and orientation, can party stop dem.? ,u should equally know that those who are not under political party are more than does who affiliated to any political party in Nigeria.”

Fatima Abdullahi: “Pastor Chris you shame us to no believe in the power of the youth,it’s embarrassing.”

Iroso Itomo: “Pastor Okotie back then said God told him he is the president. Is he now saying the party is supreme above Gods prophecy for him to lose the election? The truth is that no body know him and apart from his congregation he is not popular.”
