"Gist"

Nigerian grandfather, singer and songwriter Charles Chukwuemeka Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, on Saturday night, revealed how he a crowd of Obidients tore his shirt and trouser during the one-million-man solidarity march organised by Peter Obi supporters in Abuja.

On Saturday, a large number of desperate youths held a street rally across Abuja to raise awareness for their preferred candidate.

The large number of attendees at the event elicited reactions from Nigerians.

Meanwhile, Charly Boy revealed in a tweet how excited people were to see him at the rally.

He claimed that despite having 15 bodyguards with him, he was overwhelmed by the ecstatic fans to the extent that his shirt and trousers were torn.

He tweeted, “My whole body is hurting me. I was sweating like a Christmas goat today, and the fans out of excitement tore my trousers and shirt.

“I was with my body guards (15), but as soon as they noticed our presence, we were overwhelmed.”

With the kind of excitement I have never seen in my life, they bundled me into a car and we took off.
My eyes see smtin today, sotey sotey my guards never wanted me to return.
This is a political revolution.
I never begin tell the story, e choke today.

What baffled me today is the fact dat with the magnitude of the millions dat came out today, I am yet to hear of any incident. The most peaceful.
Abuja Youths I salute una.
It must be well with una aswear.”
