Armed Men Raid Abuja Estate, K!ll One Abduct Several

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the report of a raid on Kubwa Relocation Estate, off the Arab Road area of Abuja.

The police called for calm while investigating the security breach occasioned by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers.


A statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public relations Officer of the command, DSP Josephine Adeh, said the incident occurred on Tuesday when the assailants invaded the area, and opened fire on residents leading to the death of one person and the abduction of at least 4 others.

According to the PPRO, the Commissioner of Police, Babaji Sunday, said that the swift response of the Command, in an aggressive manhunt on the perpetrators, resulted in the rescue of three victims and the recovery of firearms and ammunition, including one AK-47 rifle and 25 rounds of ammunition.

He added that preliminary investigations revealed that the criminal elements shot 2 victims, one Oshodi and another Abdulwahab (other names unknown).

The statement reads: “The suspects while departing the scene, left with four victims, possibly, to enable them to evade arrest by the approaching Police response team deployed to the area on quick intervention.

“The two gunshot victims were immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention, but unfortunately, one of them, Oshodi, could not survive as he was confirmed dead by the doctor, while Abdulwahab is still being attended to.

“Meanwhile, the CP calls for calm, noting that the Command has since deployed intelligence and other operational assets to fortify security in the entire Kubwa area and its environs.

“He assures that investigations have since commenced to identify the suspects and bring them to book while ascertaining their mission and motives.
