In an unprecedented turn of events, prominent party leaders boycotted the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Enugu State on Wednesday, a move said to be worsening the crisis rocking the party.

However, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate, addressed the rest of his supporters at the Michael Okpara Square.

Leaders of the party who boycotted the event in the state, include: Geoffrey Onyeama, minister of foreign affairs, Senator Ken Nnamani, former president of the Senate, Barr. Sullivan Chime, former governor of Enugu, Mr. Eugene Odoh, former speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani, and others.

Mr. Osita Okechukwu, director general of Voice of Nigeria, Barr. Ben Nwoye, former state party chairman, and Barr. Mrs. Juliet Ibekaku, presidential aide, were also not present.

Nonetheless, Tinubu was welcomed by the leaders earlier in the day at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.
