Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Speaks on Being Attacked for Visiting Tinubu

World Trade Organisation’s Director-General, Professor Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has denied reports that alleged she was attacked for visiting president, Bola Tinubu.

Ngozi visited Tinubu in the company of former Minister of State for Health under Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, Dr. Ali Pate on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Okonjo-Iweala was the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy during Jonathan’s government.

Following the visit, poorly crafted narratives alleging that the former finance minister was attacked circulated social media space.

Debunking the reports, Ngozi via her Twitter handle on Wednesday urged Nigerians to disregard such reports as it is wicked and false to create mischief amongs Nigerians.

She wrote: “It has just been brought to my attention that there is a false statement circulating on WhatsApp attributed to me saying that I am being attacked for my visit to President Tinubu.

“That statement circulating is false, Infact wickedly false designed to create mischief among Nigerians. Please disregard the statement.”
