Lawmakers Issue Arrest Warrant Against FCC Staff for Alleged Job Racketeering

Lawmakers Issue Arrest Warrant Against Alleged FCC Job Racketeer

A warrant of arrest has been issued against Haruna Kolo by the House of Representatives Committee investigating allegations of job racketeering in the Federal Character Commission (FCC).

This comes after he failed to appear again at the hearing.

The order was given by Yusuf Gagdi, the Chairman of the Committee.

It would be recalled that Kolo had testified before the Committee and admitted to collecting money from job applicants on behalf of the Chairman of FCC, Muheeba Dankaka.

During the hearing on Monday, Kolo said he collected millions from different applicants and remitted them to Ms Dankaka.

However, he has refused to appear before the Committee again since Monday.

Speaking on the non-appearance of Kolo, the Chairman of the Committee directed the clerk to commence the process of an arrest warrant.

He said relevant security agencies should arrest Kolo and bring him before the Committee on Monday.

“For Haruna Kolo, the position of this committee is that he would lose his freedom. We will issue a warrant of arrest in respect of Haruna Kolo and compel security agencies to present him before this committee at any given period if he is so arrested,” he said.

The committee subsequently adjourned the probe till Monday.
