The Nigeria Police Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi has addressed a viral video of officers spotted picking money from the ground at Benin airport.
A video making the rounds on the web showed the moment some officers picked money that singer Shallopopi threw into the air at the Benin Airport.
Some Nigerians had expressed fear that the officers might be dismissed for their actions.
However, reacting to the video on Instagram, Adejobi said the police offers would not be dismissed from service, adding that their action is not considered a severe offence.
He emphasised that they may receive a lecture on refraining from such actions.
According to him, “We won’t dismiss a policemen for picking such money, we can only lecture him not to do so again, as such relegates him.”
