A Peak Into Tuition Fees of Prestigious Wigwe University Set to Launch in Less Than a Year (video)

Nigerians have continued to mourn one of its most successful bankers, Herbert Wigwe, who tragically d!ed recently in a helicopter crash in the USA. 

Until his tragic passing however, many people did not know that the banking mogul who served as the CEO of Access Holding was also building a university.

The sprawling state of the art institution, a testament to his love for world class education is located in his hometown, Isiokpo in Ikwere land, Rivers state.

The Wigwe University, Isiokpo, was already gaining popularity as some who saw it described it as a top-of-the-range Ivy League institution with the potential of being one of the best in Africa.

Hebert Wigwe himself, gave the reassurances to his kinsmen when he visited the ongoing construction to evaluate the progress.

He swore on his life and the lives of his children that no university in Africa will compare to it.

The Wigwe University has its vision as:

“Ignite Africa’s potential for prosperity, nurture thoughtful, fearless leaders, and become the leading university in Africa.”

Wigwe University is set to launch for the 2024/2025 academic session in the last quarter of 2024.

A list of courses and proposed tuition fees payable in the prestigious school have been made available.

Initial breakdown:

Students enrolled in Wigwe University’s College of Arts will pay $12,000 (N17.9 million) per session, including accommodation and other charges.

Students in the College of Engineering will pay $15,000 (N22.4 million) per session.

The university has a College of Science and Computing, College of Engineering, College of Arts, College of Management and Social Sciences.

The school fees are the same for students under the College of Management of Social Sciences.

The visionary banker was an inspiration to many. He mentored many young Africans and even in death,many still draw inspiration from his life journey.
