‘We Will Sell Cement for Between 7,000 and N8,000’ – BUA

The Group Executive Director (GED) of BUA Cement PLC, Kabir Rabiu, has reaffirmed his company’s commitment to reducing the price of cement in Nigeria.

He said this during a visit by the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, to the new BUA Cement facility in Kalambiana, Sokoto State.

Rabiu said that BUA cement prices will reduce from the current range of N9,000 and N15,000 to between N7,000 and N8,000.

He noted that the company’s decision is based on the pledge made by cement manufacturers during their meeting with the Federal Government.

He stated that the proximity of markets to cement plants nationwide plays a crucial role in fulfilling the commitment.

With the inauguration of the BUA plant in Sokoto State, Rabiu announced plans to dispatch an additional 165 trucks of cement daily from the plant’s allocation, totaling nearly 400 trucks daily entering the market.

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, visited the BUA Cement facility as part of his inspection of ongoing highway rehabilitation projects in Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna, and Zamfara States.

Umahi highlighted the importance of concrete road technology in the country’s road infrastructure transformation, particularly in projects initiated by the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Umahi commended BUA Cement for its role in supporting the government’s agenda for road infrastructure development.

He expressed confidence in the viability of cement and concrete roads, emphasizing their significance in achieving durable and sustainable infrastructure.

The Senate Chairman of the Committee on Housing, Aminu Tambuwal, underscored the critical role of cement in housing projects undertaken by both the government and the private sector.

He emphasized the importance of affordable cement prices in facilitating the delivery of housing projects across the country.

Rabiu reiterated BUA Cement’s commitment to supporting the government’s agenda and ensuring the Nigerian economy’s growth.

He emphasized the company’s dedication to providing affordable cement prices and increasing supply to meet market demand.
