'How Government is Using Fuel Crisis, Slowed Internet and Phone Connectivity to Disrupt Hardship Protest' - Sowore

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 election, Omoyele Sowore, has accused mobile telecommunication companies of deliberately targeting Nigerians to slow down their ability to communicate and mobilize.

The convener of the #Revolutionnow movement made the claims as some Nigerians mobilise for a nationwide protest slated for August 1 to August 10, 2024.

The protest organisers have lamented widespread hunger and excruciating inflation in the country.

In a post via his X page on Monday, Sowore alleged that the current fuel crisis in the country was introduced to stifle Nigerians planning protest on August 1.

According to him, Nigerians were more than ever determined to end bad governance in Nigeria, and there is no going back about it.

He said: “FUEL CRISIS has been introduced to stifle Nigerias planning #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria

TELCOS – @MTNNG @GloWorld @AirtelNigeria are deliberately targeting Nigerians to slow down their ability to communicate and mobilize.

“Nigerians are determined more than ever to #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria during the #DaysOfRage #Nogoingback #RevolutionNow.”

Sowore accused @officialABAT is conniving with TELCOS, particularly @MTNNG @GloWorld and @AirtelNigeria to shut down this last means of existence.
