HAPPENING NOW : Nigerians Defy Government Orders, Converge in Peaceful Protests on Unauthorized Locations (videos)


Nigerians have defied government orders on protest venues and come out massively across various locations as they protest bad governance, hunger and economic hardship under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Human rights lawyers; Femi Falana, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, Deji Adeyanju; former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, the Take It Back movement and many others called for a nationwide protest against hunger and bad governance in the country.

The group tagged the protest, “Days of Rage” which it said would hold.

Early on Thursday morning, protesters headed to Alausa, Lagos seat of power, while heavy police presence has been spotted at Ojota, Lagos State.

A. Pro-government protesters also converged ahead of their rally. They are preaching against violent protests.

B. Benin protesters ignore govt’s directives, mount roadblocks on several roads.

C. At the FCT, hunger protesters on Thursday converged at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, in compliance with a court order restricting them to the facility.

Protesters gathered as early as 6 am singing solidarity songs. Present at the stadium are heavily armed security operatives.

Activists and groups had declared the protest in response to the economic hardship. The protests are expected to last for 10 days.
