A CCTV footage of another child reveals how a domestic staff or an adult could have saved Ifeanyi, the little son of Davido and Chioma if they were really minding him.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos state police command confirmed that 8 of the domestic staff of the singer have since been taken in for questioning following the tragic death.
The boisterous toddler turned 3 on the 20th of October and was seen a few days later taking swimming lessons from his father in their Banana Island mansion.
Hundeyin said that no member of Davido’s domestic staff would be arrested until the police concludes preliminary interrogation.
According to the police PRO, ”They were brought in questioning, not arrest. Anybody found not culpable will be released immediately while those found culpable will remain with us to further our investigation.’‘ he said
Davido and his fiancée were out of town leaving their very loved son with the house full of domestic staff.
According to a source close to the heartbreaking incident, the Nanny was with Ifeanyi when the chef came to join them. The Nanny was said to have moved slightly away to receive a call.
On returning, Ifeanyi was no where to be found so she assumed that he went off with the chef only for the latter to remind her that she left Ifeanyi with her.
The entire household began frantically searching for the boy for nearly 20 minutes until a security guard spotted him in the pool.
They all claim not to know how he got into the water. Expectedly, his parents were devastated when they returned to hear the news.
The source said that “Davido ran mad. He literally removed his clothes and wanted to run into the streets. He was held back. He and Chioma are inconsolable.”
His son was immediately rushed to the hospital where the doctors gave a glimmer of hope that he would pull through within hours. Sadly, he didn’t as the Police Spokesperson confirmed his death by daytime.
Unique Saviour gave a hint of what could have been done to save Ifeanyi had anyone been consciously minding him
He wrote: “This shit happened everywhere. May God be our CCTV camera.”
