A Nigerian father has shared the copy of a letter he wrote to his son’s school, Federal Government College, Abuja.

He said he wrote the letter before withdrawing the 10-year-old who was emaciating drastically because he was constantly tormented by senior boys.

The parent identified as Mike Ekunno posted the letter, written on the 5th of June 2018 on his social media pages. It was dressed to the new Principal of the school at that time.

Ekunno disclosed that he was forced to withdraw his son from the school in spite of his imminent 3rd term exams so he could stay alive.

According to him, 10-year-old Ifesinachi Ekunno was constantly bullied by the SS3 students. The boys physically, mentally and emotionally tormented him.

Just like Sylvester Oromoni, they also extorted him every time they saw he had money or other provisions. Mike Ekunno sought audience with the school but the issue persisted.

He tried to assuage the “tormentors” by buying them generous amounts of groceries and other supplies but those measures were temporary as the new set of SS3 bullies became more vicious than the previous.

His son who enrolled in the school weighing 50kg, lost 10kg, became depressed, withdrawn, subdued and jittery at every turn.

The young boy complained that they beat him with leather belts, constantly punished him and dealt him endless slaps. He was also denied sleep most nights.

According to Mike Ekunno, “Copy of my letter to the school authority over the bullying of my son. I finally had to withdraw him without sitting for his promotional exam to keep him alive.
