Abba Kyari is dead ! The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari died of coronavirus disease.

The announcement was made a few minutes ago by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

Abba Kyari Dies of Coronavirus

The Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari died of covid-19. He becomes the most prominent Nigerian to give in to the disease.

Hettyosblog and popular journalist, Kemi Olunloyo had announced that a high ranking member of President Buhari’s cabinet died of coronavirus  on the 2nd of April. Unfortunately  since there was no formal announcement from the presidency, many media houses did not carry the news while those who did, refrained from naming the victim.

Some social influencers requested the government to tell the public his whereabouts but none was responded until this morning.

Abba Kyari’s tested positive to the killer disease on on about the 24th of March. He could however not travel abroad for medical treatment as borders of major Western countries were closed.

Besides alarming cases of covid-19 and the deaths from the disease in those countries meant he could not get the needed care.  

Notwithstanding local and international news media including CNN carried reports that he have somehow found his way out to an unnamed foreign country for treatment .

Reports however later emerged that he had been transferred to a private hospital in Lagos. There were also reports that his Health Condition may be difficult to manage due to underlying and pre-existing ailments.

Nonetheless, according to Femi Adesina, funeral announcement will be announced soon.
