Sadiq Abdullahi, the abducted son of the convener of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Ango Abdullahi, has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the House of Representatives.
Sadiq Abdullahi is one of the passengers abducted by bandits during an attack on a Abuja-Kaduna -bound train on March 28.
The aspiring lawmaker who is still in captivity, won a ticket to represent Sabon Gari Federal Constituency of Kaduna State.
Reports say that Sadiq polled 28 votes at the PDP primaries to defeat his closest rival, Malam Abdulhamid, who scored six votes.
Hajiya Mohammed and Paulina Edward, who also contested in the poll, were said to have got no votes.
In another development, Nigerian singer, Olubankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W has also won the PDP ticket in a landslide victory during the primaries for Eti-Osa constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
He clinched 28 out of the 31 votes from the delegates at the PDP primaries to defeat Mr Sam Aiboni, who polled just three votes.
In 2019, Banky contested in the National Assembly election to represent Eti-Osa constituency, Lagos at the House of Representatives.
He lost the election to Ibrahim Obanikoro, son of former Minister, Musiliu Obanikoro of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
