Reports from Abia State indicate a clear victory for the Party’s governorship candidate, Alex Otti.
According to an eyewitness, the results for this week largely mirrored what happened in the presidential elections.
Voter turnout as expected, was not up to what obtained on February 25, but at a centre with about 44 polling units turnout was between 40 and 60%. This estimate is for Abia Polytechnic only, with 44 polling units.
The eyewitness added that “Alex Otti won in EVERY SINGLE POLLING UNIT here!!
“The trend from most centres show a winning margin of 70- 75%.
Note that this is for Abia South where the APGA/PDP/YPP is expected to do well.
“There were no discernible signs of manipulation and voters were largely pro-Labour and intent on protecting a poll they believe will definitely favour them.
“YPP’s Enyinnaya “NANA” Nwafor is from Abia South (same as the incumbent). He is Ngwa, as is the PDP candidate Okey “KIKAS” Ahiwe, from Abia Central.
“They are expected to divide the Ngwa “protest vote” handing Otti s clear advantage: Otti should sweep Abia North ,or, Umuahia, Ohafia etc, (old Bende).
“If Alex is doing well as early reports indicate, the this may turn out to be a landslide for him, barring any eventualities.”
