Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, a candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who was abducted in the Abuja-Kaduna train attack and spent 69 days in captivity, has won the Sabon Gari federal constituency election.
He costed home with 33,616 votes.
Abdullahi defeated the 4th-time member representing the area in the National Assembly, Mohammed Garba Datti of APC who polled 31,737 votes.
Ango Abdullahi won the PDP ticket while in captivity.
He is the son of the Chairman of the Northern Elders Forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi.
