The president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas has reacted to news of veteran actress, Genevieve Nnaji being struck with mental illness.
He has said he is not aware of the medical condition as he was not informed by anyone prior to the News Agency of Nigeria reaching out to him.
There have been reports in the last few weeks that Genevieve is battling mental illness due to drug abuse.
In the 3rd week of March, she posted worrisome images of a graveyard, a Quran and a Bible on her Instagram page.
This is coming days after the actress took to her Instagram story to state that mental health is more spiritual than physical.
According to the multiple international award-winning actress, people who are seeking stability and balance should rededicate their lives to God and serve him properly.
She urged them to get baptized. In her words, “Mental health is more spiritual than it is physical. Rededicate your life to the God you serve. Get rebaptized”.
In another Instagram post, the actress shared troubling videos quoting the Quran with photos of some chapters in the Quran, a prayer mat, and a graveyard with the caption; “It’s just a dream. Please, wake up, wake up.”

This further set her fans panicking and calling for everyone that has access to her to check on her.
Reacting to the development, the President of the AGN, Emeka Rollas, told NAN that the ace actress and mother of one’s exit from Instagram was new to him too.
He, however, promised to reach out to the actress to know if she was safe.
Rollas said, “I will have to reach out to her since I am just getting this news from you now. I have not learnt of that.
”I’ll reach out to her to know whether she is safe or not after your call. I cannot just conclude with hearsay or rumour.”
