The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has disgraced actress Nkechi Blessings, estranged ’husband’ and Ekiti State politician, Opeyemi Falegan over fraudulent donations.
This comes barely 48 hours after Falegan’s messy breakup with the Nollywood actress.
A post shared by Opeyemi Falegan, captured him soliciting donations for his foundation, urging followers to contribute to the foundation saying it will be submitted to UNICEF.
UNICEF on its part, took to its Instagram handle to disassociate itself from the Opeyemi Falegan’s foundation, stating that they are not aware of the donations.
They stated that all legitimate campaigns for donations are hosted on the organization’s website and verified social media pages, urging the general public not to fall victim to the scam.
The post read: ‘UNICEF Nigeria is aware of a fictitious donation drive to raise funds for UNICEF. Please be aware that all legitimate campaigns for donations are hosted on the UNICEF website www.unicef.org and verified social media pages. Do not fall victim to this scam!’
