The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the ongoing Anambra governorship election, Akachukwu Nwankpo has revealed that he voted for his opponent, and candidate of the theĀ All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Prof Chukwuma Soludo.
The independent National Election Commission (INEC) had declared the November 6 governorship election in the state inconclusive.
INEC cited irregularities discovered in most communities in Ihiala Local Government Area of the State.
The commission thereafter, slated the supplementary election for today, Tuesday, 9th of November.
Governorship candidates:
The polls kicked off as scheduled and as earlier communicated by INEC. Voting ended as stipulated, by 4:00pm while sorting and counting are currently ongoing.
In a chat with journalists after casting his vote today, the ADC governorship candidate disclosed he voted for Soludo due to his track record both in the public and private sectors.
Nwankpo stated that Soludo remains the best person to govern the state out of all 3 front-runners in the supplementary election.
The APGA candidate has won 19 out of the 21 local government ares so far declared. He polled a total of 103,946 votes.
Soludo is followed by the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Valentine Ozigbo with 51,322 votes while the All Progressives Congress candidate, Ifeanyi Uba came a distant 3rd position with 42,942 votes.
