Adeleke Takes Oath of Office as Osun State Governor

Today, Sunday November 27, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Kola Adewusi took their oath of office and allegiance as Governor and Deputy Governor of Osun State, respectively.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was officially declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election in mid-July by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

His victory is still being contested by his predecessor and incumbent Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola.

Adeleke and Adewusi were administered their oaths by the Osun State Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo.

In attendance are PDP chieftains, traditional rulers and dignitaries across the states.

New Governor Ademola Adeleke entered the venue in a long convoy of vehicles at about 11:20 am and took his oath at about 11:50 am.

Also in attendance at the event held in the main bowl of Osogbo City Stadium were the 2023 PDP presidential candidate and his running mate, Atiku Abubakar and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, respectively.

The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and his counterpart in Akwa Ibom State, Governor Emmanuel Udom, were also present.

Also present were Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa State, Former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose and Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

Also at the venue were: Wife of the PDP presidential candidate, Titi Atiku, Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, and former Oyo governor, Chief Rashidi Ladoja, among others.

Conspicuously present, to the delight of many worried fans was the new Governor’s nephew and singer, Davido who has been in seclusion since the 31st of October when his son, Ifeanyi died by drowning.
