Jimi Adekanle, the CEO of Savannah News TV and President of JAF Care Foundation has issued a strong warning to Nigerians, especially the indigenes of Ondo State against marrying women from other tribes.
Adekanle who is also a Human Rights Activist, humanitarian and Public Affairs Commentator issued the caveat when he recounted the last days of late Governor Akeredolu and the role of his wife, Betty, the former First Lady of Ondo State.
According to him, Akeredolu did not enjoy his last days because of his “bad wife,” Betty. He added that when the entire state was busy praying for the speedy recovery of the late governor, the wife insisted she does not believe in prayers and so he died a miserable death in spite of his wealth and social status.
The activist accused Betty of neglecting the husband to go after wealth, acquiring the biggest houses in Ondo and her home state.
He said she has the biggest fish pond in Nigeria, the biggest hospitals, hotels and houses in Ibadan, Owo, her village, across Nigeria and turned her village into a Mecca of sorts. He added that her son, Jide joined in fray, clubbing all over Lagos and Abuja while his father was dying.
Adekanle said the former First Lady only retuned her husband from Germany the last time to enable him loot the state dry. He lamented that Betty abandoned the late NBA Chairman in Ibadan without paying the 3 caregivers employed for him. This forced them to abandon him and compelled the family to relocate him to Lagos to be catered for by his brother, still she refused to visit him but stayed in the state to rake in more money, holding unnecessary meetings and making social media posts.
He concluded that no man should allow his children marry from the wrong tribe and the wrong family.
The journalist called on the EFCC to investigate all the wealth and properties that Betty acquired and thanked GOD for liberating the people of Iwo from her grip.
