Amaju Pinnick: Davido Bows to Pressure, Apologizes to Warri Fans

Renowned Afrobeats singer, Davido has tendered an unreserved apology to his fans in Warri.

The music star had fixed shows in Nigeria and Australia for the 6th of October. While he honoured the Australian show, the singer ignored the Nigerian event which was organized by BrownHill Event Inc, a company owned by Amaju Pinnick, former President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF).

Angered by Davido’s action, Pinnick called out Davido on Friday night, saying that his company paid $94,000 to the singer in April and booked an $18,000 chartered flight from EAS Airlines that would have conveyed the artist and his crew to and fro the event.

Aside from making payments, the organisers said they went ahead to engage sponsors, make promotional adverts, tickets, and other crucial preparations prompted by the artist’s intention to perform at the Warri Again Independence Show.

In a post on his Instagram story, Davido said he had communicated to them “months ago” that he was not going to be available.

The singer added that it’s a shame” they went ahead to continue promoting the show using his name.

He said:“To my lovely fans in Warri that spent their hard-earned money to come out. Apologies you had to experience this. I was not going to be physically able to make it and this had been communicated to them for a longgggg while now I mean MONTHS ago but for reasons best known to them, they continued to promote the show using my name. It’s a shame. But specially for my fans out there, don’t worry you know I gotta bring Timeless to Delta State. We will do it properly, bigger and better”.
