The Lagos amputee hawker, Mary Daniel whose images went viral a few months ago has bought a house and is set to launch a pure water factory.
Miss Daniel was spotted around Bolade in Oshodi, Lagos by a kind-hearted man identified as Ibitoye Ayodele hawking sachet pure water in the scorching sun despite her physical disability.
Moved by her plight, Ibitoye is said to have given her some money and shared her story on his Twitter page.
Nigerians equally rallied round the young woman and opened a gofundme account for her. The funds soon hit the millions as they encouraged her to quit the harsh weather and start a saner business.
Mary has obviously put the money to good use as she acquired a house at the Igando area of Lagos State and already has 2 tenants.
She said the house costs N17.5 million out of nearly N25 million donated to her.
Mary Daniel is also set to open a pure water factory and plans to tag it ‘Mary Daniel Pure Water.’
The former amputee hawker declined speaking about her family members who told Nigerians that the story she told about her life were lies.
Mary has taken custody of her daughter, Success whom she has enrolled in school and is in KG 1.
The traditional ruler of her tribe in Lagos was on hand at the opening of her property. She used the occasion to appeal to Nigerians to assist her complete the set up of her pure water factory as she still needs some funds.
