An analyst who allegedly works with Arise TV, Sam Amadi has retracted and apologized for tweeting a picture of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Olukayode Ariwoola in a wheel chair.
Some media outlets reported that the CJN in a bid to meet up with the President-elect Bola Tinubu had pretended to be a physically-challenged old man.
It was alleged that Ariwoola departed Nigeria on March 11 via Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. He was pushed in a wheelchair through the terminals to board a British Airways flight,
Upon arrival in London, Atowoola was also wheeled into a hotel. But immediately after checking into the hotel, Ariwoola abandoned his wheelchair and started moving around the facility unaided.
Reacting to the allegations against him the President-elect denied holding any secret meeting with the CJN in London in order to curry the favour of the judiciary as his opponents battle to nullify his mandate.
Speaking via a statement by the Director, Media and Publicity of the All Progressives Congress, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu reiterated the fact that he is currently in France and could not have also been in London holding the said meeting.
Part of the statement read: “Our attention has been drawn to the grossly fake, misleading and malicious story about the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola, disguising to meet President-elect Bola Tinubu in London.
In a fresh development, Amadi tendered an apology on Twitter for tweeting the picture of the CJN.
He claimed the now-deleted tweet was in response to the PG story and that he did not intend to embarrass.
