Anonymous @liteMod Shuts Down First Bank Website, And A Number of Government Sites

News - Women's Perspective

Anonymous @LiteMods is reported to have shut down the website of First Bank, Nigeria.

This follows news that the bank is freezing the#ENDSARS protest fund-raiser account.

The latest hack is sequel to reports of hacking of a number of Nigerian government interest websites traced and seen as anti-#ENDSARS movement.

Central Bank of Nigeria and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) websites have also been touched.

The Anonymous team has threatened to shut more government websites.

The Twitter handle of the National Broadcasting Commission and its account is in the firm grip and control of the quasi-intelligent team of hackers after it grew its followers from 10,000 to 22,500.

Anonymous insists it is driven by its supports for the weak against the powerful. It also seek justice for the oppressed.

Among its core values are:

  • Human rights
  • Autonomy and self governance
  • Resistance against tyranny
  • A more humane society

In support of the #ENDSARS movement, it states that their actions are in support of an end to police brutality.

It appears the President’s website has been shut down as well.

Earlier in the week, Anonymous had hacked the website of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) and leaked sensitive data to the general public.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) websites appear to have been touched too.
