Another High Profile Nigerian, Maina Faints During Cross Examination

The former chairman of the Defunct Pension Reform Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, has joined many other high profile Nigerians who faint during cross examination for corrupt enrichment.

He is being prosecuted in a 12-count charge before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

Maina reportedly collapsed at precisely 10:10am when his counsel, Anayo Adibe rose to make submissions before Justice Okon Abang.

Before the fainting spell, his counsel is said to be praying the court for an adjournment to enable him prepare for a no-case submission he plans to file on his behalf.

Today’s sitting was suspended and hearing adjourned to enable his medical personnel attend to him.

The scenario is no longer news to Nigerian citizens going by the many such incidences in the past.

Expectedly, cynicism has greeted the latest fainting bout as people reel out what they perceive as deja vu.

Abubakar Aliyu@Abou_Aliee·This mysterious collapse is not caused by heart attack. It happens to greedy public servants who suffer from inability to face the consequences of their greediness. We learned from Pondei, and today Maina slumped incourt during trial.SAY NO TO IMPUNITY #SecureNorth#SecureNigeria
