Just like Stella Okotete, another ministerial nominee, Maryam ‘Shetty’ Shettima went spiritual the moment she got the news that she made the second list.
The young Fulani wife and mother was seen praying for President Tinubu and and his administration insisting that they will succeed.
Tinubu submitted the second batch of ministerial nominees on Wednesday to the Senate for confirmation.
The video posted on Twitter on Wednesday night shows Maryam on her prayer mat, receiving a call before going into prayers.
She looked at the camera and said she was thankful to Tinubu.
She also described him as “patriotic” and prayed that his administration would be successful.
The video carried the caption, “A Ministerial Nominee from Kano State, Dr @maryamshetty goes into sujud to Thank Almighty Allah immediately after her announcement as Ministerial nominee from Kano State.
“Northern Youths are well-represented here. Thank you President Tinubu.”
During the electioneering campaigns, Maryam praised her husband and community for allowing her be herself and pursue her passion for politics insisting that the profession is not only for illiterates, irresponsible or money bags.
She says she is a princess of the Hausa/Fulani extraction.
Maryam Shetty is a political and social activist and a qualified physiotherapist who has worked with top-tier athletes including legendary athlete and world record holder, Jamaica’s Usain Bolt.
