APC Ward Chairman Hangs Himself in an NSCDC Cell

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ponyan Ward in the Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State, Bunmi Ipinnaiye, is reported to have committed suicide in a Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) cell.

The politician was arrested by men of the NSCDC for the attempted murder of his son who he allegedly attacked with a machete while on their way to the farm.

The deceased is alleged to have attacked his son for fraternising with some boys who were involved in social vices.

He was arrested after the attack and detained in the correctional centre.

Ipinnaye was found dead and hanging from his belt in his cell yesterday, June 7

His corpse was found by NSCDC operatives who went into his cell to interrogate him.
