Armed robbers are alleged to have hijacked the case file of the Department State Services (DSS) on the trial of the detained Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho.
The information was made known earlier today by the counsel to the DSS, I Awo at the Federal High Court.
The case file contained the Fundamental Human Rights Enforcement applications filed by the aides to Igboho.
According to the DSS lawyer, the case file was hijacked from him by armed robbers when he boarded a ‘one chance’ vehicle on his way to court. The DSS lawyer, who said his belongings including the case file were snatched by the armed robbers, prayed the court for an adjournment.
Reacting to the the claims by I Awo, Counsel to Igboho, Pelumi Olajegbensi described the claim as ridiculous and shameful.
He added that his clients are seeking N100 million being aggravated and exemplary damages against the respondent for the serial breach of their constitutional rights.
Olajegbensi bared his mind in a Facebook post on Wednesday afternoon.
“We must stop this nonsense in this country. I am sick and tired. The Claim by DSS staff that they were robbed and case file missing on their way to court is ridiculous and shameful. If DSS can be robbed in the city of Abuja, what then is the faith of the common man. #Sickcountry“
