The Nigerian Army is reported to have deployed soldiers in several strategic locations in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Reports say that the soldiers started arriving their locations at about 10:00pm, Sunday night.
The heavily armed soldiers, wearing black facemarks barricaded the expressway leading to the Central Bank and other major roads in the city.
This development comes a few days after the military high command said it was set to commence ‘Operation Crocodile Smile.’
Soldiers are currently stationed at the Ralph Shodeinde Street, and some sections of the Goodluck E Jonathan Expressway as well as roads leading to the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Policemen have also cordoned off the Three Arms Zone.
At the time of this report, the army and police were seen manhandling peaceful protesters.
A female journalist was not spared as her camera and phone were confiscated after being thoroughly beaten by the rampaging uniformed men.
The #Endsars protests which were meant to end police impunity and extrajudicial killings in Nigeria is now addressing other issues of poor governance.
A soldier totally masked up has advised his colleagues to see the benefits of the ongoing protests.
He advised them not to harm protesters because if they succeed, the living conditions of the average Nigerian soldier would improve.
According to the unnamed soldier, the taskmasters who are well fed are using them for their selfish ends:
